OBIT  - - JOHN McKITTRICK Jr.

John McKittrick Jr., 71, Troy, died Saturday Feb. 20, at his home.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Troy, with the Rev. Rodney Raymond and Rev. Jerry Boaz, officiating.  Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Troy.  Flag folding ceremony will be conducted by Legion Post No. 55. Pallbearers will be Bernard Koehler, Lyle Yingling, Bill Triplett, Phil Johnson, Herbert Albers and Robert Kibler.
Visitation will be held from 8-9 p.m. Sunday at the Harman-Rohde Funeral Home in Troy.  Memorials are suggested to Hands of Hope Hospice, Cancer Fund or Ambulance Fund.
Mr. McKittrick was born May 9, 1921 in Troy, the son of John and Ella Mae Roderick McKittrick.  They moved to Bendena where McKittrick lived until moving to Troy in 1947.  He married Evelyn Lenora Horne in Topeka on April 5, 1947.
He was a motor carrier for the St. Joseph News-Press Gazette for 23 years.  He retired in January of this year because of ill health.  He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Central Christian Church in St. Joseph, American Legion Post No. 55 of Troy, American Association of Retired People and a former member of the Troy Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn McKittrick, at the home; a son, Dennis McKittrick, Troy; a sister, Jessie McKittrick, Troy; and a grandson, Matthew McKittrick, Troy.
