OBIT - - MARGARET ELIZABETH (PRICE) DITTEMORE

Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Dittemore, 81, wife of WIley H. Dittemore, 1725 Chestnut Street, died at 11:45 p.m. Friday at her home.
Funeral services will be held at the Stanton chapel at 2 p.m. Monday, the Rev. William Twombly of Fanning officiating.  Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery at Troy.
Mrs. Dittemore was born Nov. 10, 1872, near Sparks, a daughter of Josiah D. and Elizabeth Price.  Her father came to America from Wales in 1852, married Miss Elizabeth Poulter, who came from Scotland, and they settled in Doniphan County in 1869.  They were the parents of nine girls, of whom Mrs. Dittemore was the fourth.  All grew to womanhood in Doniphan County.
On Sept. 6, 1891, Margaret Elizabeth Price was married to Wiley H. Dittemore in St. Joe, and they took up residence on a farm northwest of Troy.  Their six children all were born and educated in Doniphan County.
Mrs. Dittemore was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, and was active in it until her last illness.  She also was a tireless worker in community affairs and had a great many friends.
Besides her husband she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. H.D. Williams and Mrs. G.H. Johnson, both of Bendena, and Mrs. A.W. Denton, St. Joe; three sons, Homer P. Dittemore, St. Joe, and Earl C. and J. Marvin Dittemore of Atchison; two sisters, Mrs. Etta P. Graves, San Jose, Calif., and Miss Daisy B. Price, Troy; 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
