Obituary - Jane Barrand
Jane E Barrand, 74, Hiawatha, died Friday, March 5, 1993, at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Hiawatha.
She was born June 26, 1918, in Hiawatha to Charles Leroy and Faye L. Conklin Hauber. She grew up and lived most of her life in the Hiawatha area, attending Hiawatha schools and graduating from Hiawatha High School in 1936. She married Lloyd R. Barrand in HIawatha on October 26, 1940. He preceded her in death on February 16, 1975.
Mrs. Barrand worked at the Coop Farm Store in Robinson in the 70's and 80's She was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church, Robinson.
Survivors include a daughter, Judi, and husband, Jim Bruning, Robinson: a son, Charles James Barrand, Hiawatha; two brothers, Rex Hauber, Columbia, MO and Lester Hauber, Westminster, CO; four grandchildren, Charlie Barrand, Elizabeth Bruning, Mitch Bruning and Bret Bruning.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Zion United Methodist Church, Robinson, with Pastor Gene Mengarelli officiating. Burial was at the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hiawatha.
Memorials are suggested to the Brown County Chapter of the American Heart Association and may be sent in care of Framke Casselman Meek Funeral Home, Hiawatha.
