Veva B. Potter Scott, 92, St. Joseph, Mo., formerly of Troy, died Saturday, May 1, 1993, at a St. Joseph, Mo., health-care center.
Mrs. Scott was born to Joseph Henry and Mary Lewis Potter in Brown County. She lived most of her life on a farm south of Troy, until moving to St. Joseph in 1962. She was a homemaker and a member of the Francis Street United Methodist Church in St. Joseph.
In 1926, she married Joseph A. Scott in Troy. He died in 1970. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Vertin, in 1984; two brothers, Clarence and Henry Potter; and a sister, Hester Potter.
Surviving are a son, Joseph A. Scott, of Lake Lotawana, Mo., two daughters, Cleobel Farber of Lake Lotawana and Beverly Chambers of St. Joseph; 13 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Monday, May 3, at the Harman-Rohde Funeral Home in Wathena. Pallbearers were Mike Vertin, Greg Vertin, Mike Chambers, John Vertin, Steve Vertin and Steve Lee. Burial was in Mount Olive Cemetery, Troy.
