OBIT - - KATIE MAE SIMPSON

Katie Mae Simpson, 95, Troy, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 1992, at a St. Joseph, Mo., hospital.
She was born July 25, 1897, in Sparks, the daughter of John Elmer and Sarah Elizabeth Racus Simpson and spent her life in Doniphan County.
She was a member of the Adventist Church in Troy.
She was married to Samuel Arthur Simpson Sept. 8, 1916.  He died Nov. 2, 1977.  She was also preceded in death by a son, Edward Simpson; a daughter, Mary Blanton; two grandsons; and a great grandson.
Survivors include: three sons, Allen Simpson, Sparks, and Dorsey Simpson and Jack Simpson, both of Highland; five daughters, Lenora Blanton, Highland, Nona Orcutt and Nina Hrenchir, both of Wathena, Shirley Lindsey, Effingham, and Geraldine Cooley, Scott City; a brother, Chester Simpson, Fortuna, Calif.; 64 grandchildren; 173 great grandchildren and 35 great great grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday, Nov. 10, at the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Fanning.  Burial was at Mount Olive Cemetery, Troy.  Harman-Rohde Funeral Home, Troy, handled the arrangements.
Pallbearers were Mike Simpson, Terry Simpson, David Simpson, Marvin Blanton, Tim Hrenchir, and Jason Lindsey.
Memorials are suggested to the Troy Ambulance Fund.
