Lucille Thomas, Troy, died Friday morning, December 4, 1992, at a hospital in St. Joseph. She was 86 years old.
Mrs. Thomas was born in Troy on August 9, 1907, to Lewis and Mary Emory Hennis. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Troy and also a member of the CWF Christian Women's Fellowship) and Guild for the church. She was a cook at the Trot Elementary School for several years and a homemaker.
She married Everett Thomas in Troy on September 24, 1924. He preceded her in death January 5, 1977. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Marjorie Ptomey, in 1978, and a son, Lewis Thomas, July 24, 1992.
Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Dittemore, Troy; two brothers, Bernard Hennis, Holton, Bob Hennis, state of Louisiana; five sisters, Marquerite Martin, St. Joseph, Opal Culp, Kansas City, MO, Laveta Sandy, Troy, Myrtle Ruhnke and Pauline Ptomey, Highland; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 7, 1992, at the First Christian Church, Troy. Burial was at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Troy. Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Christian Church, Troy, or the Troy Ambulance Fund.
