Obituary - Ronald Bryson
Ronald H. "Shorty" Bryson, 78, St. Jo, died Friday, Oct. 15 at a St. Jo hospital.
Born in DeKalb County, Mo., Mr. Bryson had resided in Helena, Mo., prior to moving to St. Jo in 1962.
He was employed for 28 years with Burlington Northern Railroad in the section labor department, retiring in 1978. Mr. Bryson was a member of the First Baptist Church at Helena were he had been Sunday school superintendent; Eagles Lodge No 49; Central Protective Association and Brotherhood Maintains of Way of the Burlington Northern Railroad. He was an honorary member of the Pony Express American Legion Post No. 359.
In 1940, he married the former Betty J. Adams. She survives of the home.
Mr. Bryson was preceded in death by two brothers, George L. and John R.; four sisters, Velma Miller, Mae Hart, Agnes White and Myrtel Maag.
Additional survivors include three sons, Harold R.and Edward L., both of St. Jo, and Kenneth L., Wathena; four daughters, Joyce Sharp, Julia M. Bryson, Mary F. Amos and A. Joann Grieme, all of St. Jo; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Services were Monday in St. Jo. Burial was at Helena Cemetery.
