Obituary-Robert Campbell
Robert "Bob" Campbell, 65, of Fanning, died Sunday April 11, 1993, at a hospital in St. Joseph, Mo.
He was born June 17, 1927, at Troy to William F. and Grace Nesser Campbell and lived most of his life in Fanning.
Mr. Campbell retired in 1986 from the Campbell Oil Company of Fanning where he had been associated with the family business for 48 years. He was also a woodcarver, and his talents were widely known.
He was a member of the First Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge, both of Troy. He was a graduate of the Troy High School, where he was an outstanding athlete. He had also served with the U.S. Navy.
He and Anita Waggoner were married at Troy on June 16, 1945. She survives of the home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Fred in 1965, and a son-in-law, Larry Norris, in 1972.
Additional survivors include four daughters; Diana Bembrick, Troy; Peggy Norris, Fanning; Judy (and Doyle) Prawl, Troy; Tina Campbell, Kansas City, Mo; two sisters; Evelyn Blanton, Highland and Bettie Karn, Troy; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held Wednesday, April 14, at the R.L.D.S. Church at Fanning. Burial was in Mt. Olive Cemetery with flag folding ceremonies conducted by the VFW Post of Wathena. Harman-Rohde Funeral Home, Troy, handled the arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the Bob Campbell Memorial Fund.
Pallbearers were Steve Butler, Gene Clary, Ron Karn, Ronnie Huss, Billy Max Blanton and Lawrence Lee Blanton.
