ELWOOD, KS..April 26__The "Big Muddy" was here--With the recession of the Missouri River flood waters, comes the evidence of the stark destruction of a flood.  This washed out section of U.S. Hwy 36 is located just a few miles west of here.  The flood has caused millions of dollars in damage to property, highways and eroded farms.  Telephone linemen can be seen working on the phone lines in this region in an attempt to restore service interrupted by the flood.
