OBIT -- BENJAMIN A. ELLIS

Benjamin A. "Ben" Ellis, 80, St. Joseph, Mo., a distant cousin of Ben Williamson, Troy, died Sunday, June 6, 1993, at a St. Joseph, Mo. health care center.
Mr. Ellis, a lifelong resident of St. Joseph, Mo., was the great-grandson of the late Joseph Robidoux, founder of St. Joseph, Mo., and son of the late Benjamin F. and Adrienne Beauvais Ellis.
For 35 years, he was a machine operator at the former Pearl Brewing Co., retiring in 1965.
Mr. Ellis served with the Army Air Corps 56tth fighter group in England during World War II. He was a member of St. Joseph's Cathedral and American Legion Post No. 11.
Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian burial was held June 9 at Horigan Chapel at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Burial was in Mount Olivet Cemetery, St. Joseph, Mo. Heaton-Bowman-Smith & SIdenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph, Mo., handled the arrangements.
