Obituary - Akers, Evelyn
Evelyn Beatrice Akers, 73, Hiawatha, died March 1, 1993, at Hiawatha Community Hospital where she had been a patient since February 12.
Mrs. Akers was born February 26, 1919, in Highland to Henry and Tiny Brooks Akers. At an early age she moved with her family to Council Bluffs, Iowa. She attended schools in Council Bluffs and graduated from high school there.
She was united in marriage to Donald Akers September 12, 1968, at Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where they resided until they moved to Hiawatha in Janurary,1981. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Alice Linton and Mildred Akers.
Survivors include her husband, Donald of the home; a niece, Barbara Rossum and husband, George; two great nieces and husbands; two stepsons, Roger Akers, Miami, FL and Donald Akers Jr., Kansas City, MO; two step daughters, Marjorie Bryson, Carbondale, IL, and Jackie Mynier, Mt. Sterling, KY; as well as a number of cousins.
Funeral services were held March 6 at the Framke Casselman Meek Funeral Home. Burial was at the Hiawatha Cemetery.
