Marjory Gertrude Gibson, 85, of Topeka, passed away Friday, Jan. 1, 1993, at a Topeka hospital.
She was born Oct. 8, 1907 in Troy, the daughter of Edward and Gertrude Doughty. She had resided in Topeka for the past 50 years.
She married Eugene A. Gibson Sr., Sept. 8, 1935. He preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 1984.
Mrs. Gibson was a teacher for the Topeka public school system before she retired on May 27, 1972, after 42 years with the school system. She attended Troy Schools and graduated from Cottey Junior College in Nevada, Mo., in 1927. In 1929 she graduated from Kansas University with a B.A. degree in education.
She was a member of Lowman United Methodist Church, Topeka.
Survivors include: a son, Eugene A. Gibson Jr., Topeka; three grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Cremation is planned.
