Obituary - Effie Allen
Effie Mae Allen, 85 Emporia, died Feb. 2. She was the mother of William B Allen, who serves as superintendent of Schools at Elwood USD 486.
Additional survivors include another son, Marvin Allen Jr., Americus; a daughter, Wanda Dart, Phillipsburg; three sisters, 17 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, two great, great, grandchildren.
Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Marvin R. Allen Sr., and a daughter, Virginia Mae Smith.
Before she retired she was employed at St. Mary's Hospital for 16 years. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.
Services were held Saturday with burial in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
